On February 14, 2011, Chowgirls presents "Locavore Love Affair," a local and organic Valentine's dinner prepared by Chef Truman Olson. The intimate dining experience of only 15 sweetheart tables in a unique gallery setting costs $75 per person. Early lovebirds can steal a deal at $60 per person by reserving between 4:30 and 5:30 pm. With only 45 seatings available, reservation deadline is Friday, February 11.
The five-course menu will feature artisan cheeses from Holland's Family Farm, Shepherd's Way, and Stickney Hill; free-range meats from Southeast Minnesota Food Network, and Callister Farms; and other local ingredients including Dragsmith Farms greens, wild mushrooms from Forest Mushroom in St. Joseph, Ames Farm honey, Hope Creamery butter, and milk from Cedar Summit.
